July 2026

In June we were into our apartments in Wisconsin. Marie was very happy when she saw her new apartment and has settled in well. Once we worked out TV and internet, things were even better. Verizon offered a special deal on internet which has worked out better than I thought. Then we worked on catching up with old friends and remembering what things were in what drawers in our Oshkosh apartments.

Our friend Mark put a recipe together for Baltic Porter and he let me brew with him. It is always a great day brewing with Mark and we learn new things in the process. And his recipes make great beers. Those weeks in June went by quickly. I was able to golf with old friend John Ebel multiple times. When we neared the end of June we planned a trip to Michigan. We usually get together for MJ’s birthday and this year we rented a house in Holland, Michigan to spend a few days. For a number of years, we spent our Thanksgivings together around southwest Michigan. Southwest Michigan is between Detroit and Wisconsin and has a number of fun cities to walk, shop, eat and drink. We had a great time again and welcomed MJ into a new year.

Shortly after returning to Wisconsin, we were packing for our next trip. Chris and I think it has been 46 years that we have been going to Door County. Thanks to Phil and Judy who first invited us to join them. So many of our friends are related to our camping trips and time in Door County. We revisit places of our good memories and make new memories. MJ of course joins us, Niece Denise and her husband Jason, and old friends Jeff and Donna stay in the same complex with us and we plan days together. We enjoy our time with them all and spend the year looking forward to our next time together. Marie gets to experience our crazy times but also our good food choices. We golfed multiple times at a short 9 hole course we can all enjoy. Everyone did well, I even had an eagle. I also had 2 rounds on Peninsula Golf Course which I have loved for many years. So scenic. We hit almost all the favorite places we could think of. From ice cream drinks to specialty pizzas to shot and beers. We feel blessed to spending time with such special people. Those 2 weeks flew by and now we are back in Oshkosh for the remainder of our summer. Now we are unpacked and Chris is caught up with the wash! Next we can relax and I can detox.

June 3, 2026

Working our way to the end of May and taking care of our last appointments (as you get older there seems to be more), so we thought maybe time to hit the road. We made a couple of plans and started to pack. We put some things in place, started cleaning refrigerators, and got the […]

2026 April 30

So again, as I get older I get slower! I cannot believe it has been so many months since I have posted. We seem to be busy all the time, I have many less rounds of golf this year; maybe I just move slower. But we have had fun the last 4 months. Special time […]

Christmas Eve 2025

2025 is coming to an end. The years really do fly by, which should not be surprising since the days and weeks also seem to fly by. We give thanks for all the positives this year; Chris and I remain healthy, we were able to travel and made new memories with Marie and Mary Jane. […]

Happy Thanksgiving 2025

We want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! We are living a good life here in Florida. The weather has been wonderful, although today it clouded up this afternoon because of a cold front coming down from up north. If course it will still be in the 70’s. MJ came down Wednesday so we […]
