Thanksgiving 2020

Happy Thanksgiving all.   We pray you are well and will continue that way.  It has been a crazy year.   But we are closer to the end of 2020, the election is over, the political ads are off the TV, it has to keep getting better.   Chris and I came through Covid well, her taste and smell is still coming back slowly but neither of us had serious side effects so we were blessed.  After quarantine we packed up and left Wisconsin,   after I had to scrape ice and snow off the car.

We took a leisurely trip although not as much as we would like.  We took a couple of days to go to Detroit to visit MJ and John.   From there we headed south and stopped in London, Kentucky.  Hurricane Zeta was just in front of us, so we scrapped plans to go through the Carolina mountains and stayed on wide open 75 through Georgia.  Less chances of trees and scrap down on the highway.   While it started as a very rainy day it turned out fine and we made it to Cordele, Georgia.  We carried snacks and cheese to snack at night or got take out.  The hotels did a good job of cleaning and distancing, so all worked out well.   From Cordele the next day was to home in Florida.  Then unpacking all we brought and finding a place for everything, so a few days later we started relaxing!  Florida had a hot rainy fall and was that way when we arrived.   Good to keep the fires down!   November has gotten drier and cooler.  Presently around 80 with breezes, next week a major cold front and only getting to around 70.   The winter coats will be out.  We are enjoying it.   I have planted some flowers and catching up with some small landscape work.  Not many people here for the summer and with the heat the landscapers are here less often, so a few things to catch up on.  Just enough to keep busy.

Thanksgiving will be quiet, not like the old dinners with family or traveling for weekends in Michigan.  But we will have one friend over and enjoy the day.  Whatever your day is this year we hope you can count your blessings and look forward to a better time next year.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving. I know you will enjoy Florida and your special home there. Glad you and Chris had mild cases of covid. We are hoping to stay under the radar till we get the vaccine. No plans for the coach yet for this winter. Will see how stir crazy we get.
Best wishes from John and me.

Hoping your Thanksgiving Day will be calm and joyful even with just a small group this year. Yes, not like others. John and I will spend the day together, he ordered “take out” yet I’m making his favorite stuffing, green beans and cranberry relish so he will have leftovers for sure. Ha.
Sad news with Judy on hospice now. Darrell brought back the walker, Judy is no longer up and around, that John and I took down there at the start of this terrible illness…still a shock. Darrell and the rest of the family are devastated by this and I wish there was something I could do but just pray the dear Lord takes her home and out of pain.
Sam and Sara’s house on Springbrook is for sale again, guess those people didn’t like the beauty of all the wildlife and peace that place brought. People in Jesky’s house have it for sale now also asking an enormous price for it. The new house that took Pete’s house is still not done…feel so badly for both Semrows and Thomas to have this mess and mess on the road to get through here at times too.
Guess that’s it. Hope 2021 will bring peace and respect back to our country. Hope also to be able to get together with you two in 2021 So take care, keep safe. Hugs Barb

Think of you often and hopefully we can get together next year. Take care and stay safe.

I guess this will truly be a blessed Thanksgiving for you two. Having gotten through the Covoid virus with non severe symptoms. That’s great news. Sure going to miss not going there this year. We miss it already and it’s only November.
Can’t imagine what we’ll feel like come Jan.
Oh well, there’s always next year. Stay safe everybody and know that we’re thinking about you.

Wishing you the best thanksgiving ever. We are spending thanksgiving, just the two of us in door county. I have done no scraping of snow. Have not seen any of the white stuff yet. I have been enjoying the unusually warm fall and feel as though we will be getting payback for it soon. We are thankful for a 70 degree day for Muriel’s outdoor wedding reception in November. I am so glad that You and Chris are well. Looking forward to seeing everyone again after the vaccines.

I didn’t know you had COVID! Oh my! So thankful you got through it. We have avoided it, but RV living makes that pretty easy. Glad you get to be snowbirds and escape that snow and ice. We will be spending December and January on the gulf coast in TX and are looking forward to spending a few months – or longer – with no jackets, hats or gloves, amongst the palm trees. RV living at its finest! Happy Thanksgiving to you both!

    Chris and Randy,

So happy to hear you are both feeling better with no serious side effects from Covid, and hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, albeit quiet. Hoping 2021 will allow for a visit. I so enjoy your company. Meanwhile, take care and stay safe. Loved the pictures.
