2026 April 30

So again, as I get older I get slower! I cannot believe it has been so many months since I have posted. We seem to be busy all the time, I have many less rounds of golf this year; maybe I just move slower. But we have had fun the last 4 months. Special time with good friends.

January started with MJ here for her Christmas break. And as January started our seasonal neighbors started to arrive. So our grill outs started to grow and we spent some time catching up. My neighbor Mike invited me to go fishing with him. Mike loves fly fishing and goes out West every year for Montana fishing. He has a new love as he found a local Florida guide who loves to fly fish on the ocean. We had a great day as the winds were light and we had a full day on the water. It was so much fun just being out on the boat, and we caught various fish species. None more fun then when we went after spinner sharks (who actually jump out of the water and ‘spin’). They are fighters, and I DID not take the lure out of their mouths. We were catch and release all day.

We kept up a tradition as neighbor Donald went out and bought a TV so we could have our food share/Super Bowl party in the courtyard. It was a great time, so much fun to watch the game together.

Near the end of February our good friends Mark and Terry came to spend some days with us. We were very happy they made the time to join us. We did some dining, cruising, and maybe had a beer.

When Mark and Terry left I made a side trip to Oshkosh! A couple of things to take care of. I made it to see MJ and John in Sterling Heights and then on to Oshkosh. I took care of my tasks and had a chance to catch up with good northern friends!

I made it back to Florida for Marie’s birthday, and we celebrated her 85th. We all enjoyed and she had a great time with lot’s of flowers and gifts.

That meant I made it back before St Patrick’s day, and Chris and I cooked up 20 pounds of corned beef. By all of our neighbors accounts it turned out OK. We feasted for St Patrick.

Also in March we were invited to Chris and Marie’s cousins surprise 80th birthday party. That’s not something you can miss out on, we had a wonderful day catching up and a great job by her daughter Meredith.

So now we are getting late in April and more of our fun neighbors are starting to head north. So we are getting our last grill outs with them. More good food and drinks!

It looks like our friends and relatives up north have had a hard winter, the old fashioned kind. And now it makes wild swings every couple of days.

Well , get over it! We are thinking of planning our trip back and we want good consistent weather!
