Life Moves On, Feb 29,2016
It has been awhile since I updated, but it has been rather hectic. Chris stayed in Florida until early February when I went to get her! Florida was wonderful, Marie had spent time with Chris in Florida so they ‘bonded’. We have great friends in Florida who we love to be with. Including Al and Viv, our 90+ year old neighbors who we spend our happy hours with! Chris and I had a good drive home in early Feb. We look forward to retirement when we can make that trip over a couple of weeks instead of days. We received, and accepted an offer on our house in late January. So February has been busy. Once we were back in Wisconsin we were busy trying to finish our downsizing. We had much more in the house, garage, and boathouse to deal with than we though we had. So there were many trips to St Vincent DePaul, Habitat Restore, and the town dump. On Feb 15 we took a rental in downtown Oshkosh, just where we wanted to be. Many trips in the cars hauling stuff here. Mary Jane was in town for a week and we tried to keep her busy.
And today it is final. We had our closing, and a check in hand. Still lot’s of boxes to sort through. We took a 3 bedroom apartment because that was all that was available, and for now it is a great place to store boxes we need to sort through! And on Wednesday we head to Albuquerque for Marie’s birthday, with no worries about leaving the house behind. We now live at 100 North Main Street, Oshkosh WI 54901. Apt 602.
I have to admit seeing the picture of the empty house brings me mixed emotions. However, the real warmth of any space will always be the people that occupy it. In this case, I know that your new neighbors in Oshkosh just got a heat upgrade (and not just from the temperature that Chris sets your thermostat at). Best wishes in your new spaces. Here’s to a new adventure!
Exciting things happening with you. Houses are really selling, glad yours was one of them. It does look strange when it is so empty. It will be a good year for you and you can empty boxes when you are home and have nothing to do. How long do you think you will be at your new address? Good luck with your new endeavors.
Congrats!
Finally, got to open your blog. Sad to see your empty house. We had some reallt good times there with you, but I am sure that you are happy to be moving on to your next adventure in life. Any chance you will be in Florida before March ends?
