OK, I will work on getting the day and date correct! I survived the weekend. Noel and JoAnn were here to watch over me! Thank You Thoma’s for a great fireworks show. It is not often Bartalotta comes to your backyard to put on a show, it was great! It was a warm weekend but we spent some time on the water catching some breezes. Life is good. Tom and Barbara thanks for the post. Glad your trip was a great one. I am sure you enjoyed the time traveling with the family. And I can’t imagine Tom had lobster more than 3 days in a row…….
And the girls will be home tomorrow. Their trip is coming to an end. It sounds like every day has been a new adventure for them. I can’t wait to see more pictures, everything looks beautiful. Kathy and Charles thanks again for your hospitality and I know the girls want to thank you again and thanks to your families.
My evening has not gone to plan tonight. The warm weather kicked up some storms here in Oshkosh. I have seen the lake very rough over the years, but tonight may have been the worst. They say over 60 mph winds. A number of branches down, some damage to the wood pile, the aluminum roof on the pontoon started to buckle in the wind gusts, but the boat kept bouncing and secure. And lots of rain and hail. But from what I can see other than branches down I don’t see damage at the neighbors, hopefully that is true.
So have a great 4th of July. I am sure my girls will be trying to catch up on sleep after flying back. We will give them some time to relax!
And most importantly Happy Birthday Mary Jane.
- small branches are easy to clean up
I was watching the storm on the news and was wondering if you had any damage. I am glad it is not serious. See you in a couple of weeks.
Well, I am watering my trees and flowers because we are still in a drought here. A nice soaking storm would be wonderful. We thought it might rain this afternoon, but a few drops and it was over. Glad that you are safe. On the plus side, Steven’s baseball game was not rained out and I enjoyed watching it. Nice little breeze and beautiful evening. I’m sure Chris, Mary Jane and Marie will have great stories to tell us. Can’t wait to hear about the trip.
Glad you weathered the storm with no major damage. Happy Birthday Mary Jane. I thought of her last night as her birthday was always so close to mine. It must have been fun spending it in another country. Hope everyone gets home safely. Have a great 4th. Deb
All in all pretty minor for us. Pity the people out East without power for days!
The girls are on the the way home. They had to get up very early to avoid the morning rush. They sure will be dead tired when they reach home. We spent a wonderful time together, had lots of fun and luckely the weather ment it good with them. They will have great stories to tell.
We arrived home safe and sound but going thru security and customs at JFK was unbelievable. We were herded like so much cattle weaving in and out of barriers we almost walked as much as we did on most days of our trip. And I don’t think a terrorist would be spotted in such a mass of people with all of their barricades. Anyway we had a wonderful trip. Weather was just perfect even if it was a little on the warm side up in the mountains. Every day was a new town, a new mountain, and lots of walking, shopping, eating, and drinking. Thanks to my friend Kathy for making our first week memorable. Our second week with the cousins was so interesting learning about our grandma’s village and more about the family. We walked the mountains she did as a little girl and took a 3 hour boat ride on Lake Lucern and then walked around the city. One day we took a cable car and then a ski-lift to the next level and saw glaziers, mountain bikers, people taking zip lines down the mountain and got lots and lots of pictures that Randy will post in due time. We did it all. Chris and MJ actually walked down the mountain, it took them about an hour, about 15 minutes by cable car which I took. But they finished and were so excited. So that’s about it. Will see some of you in Door County another first for me. Marie
