Saturday Feb. 18th
Heading into the weekend, Spring is getting closer and the sun is starting to feel some warmth here. And a special weekend to celebrate Mom’s 91st birthday coming up this week. She has had a rough 91st year. Her knee is pretty bad and not walking much, and not a good candidate for surgery. But she has adapted well to the wheel chair and her new assisted living apartment. And overall keeps a positive attitude. So we will see what the next year brings. She has said it is OK to pray for her not to have pain, but not to pray that she lives longer. These pictures are back from the 70’s and 80’s I believe!
Chris and Marie had a wonderful time in Florida. The weather was warm until a couple of nights when they were about to come home, but still not bad. So coming home was a ‘jolt’, even though we are having a mild winter here in Wisconsin. I see this morning it is 77 in Boynton Beach, 41 in Albuquerque, and 29 here. That’s Fahrenheit Charles! But my goal is to get to Florida each month this winter, and we are doing pretty good. We will have another long weekend in March. I have a project going on in the kitchen and hope to accomplish a little more on the next trip. Work continues as a challenge as I keep busy with projects but the plants are down from the economy, and the printing industry is a dying industry not a growing one.
So the days are getting longer and Spring is getting closer. Lent starts this week. Stay positive and enjoy life. It sounds like there was some good news for Charles wife, we will keep the prayers for that to continue!
Give your Mom a hug for me and wish her a very Happy Birthday!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOM. SORRY THAT SHE IS HAVING SO MUCH PROBLEMS WITH HER KNEE AND WALKING. I FEEL FOR HER AS I SAW MY MOM GOING THROUGH THE SAME.
LOVED THE PICTURES. I LOVE TO SEE OLD PICTURES. CHRIS & MARYJANE LOOK REALLY CUTE.
LOVE TO ALL. TOM IS HEALING SLOWLY. HAS TO DO THERAPY TWICE A DAY AND IT TAKES AWHILE TO GET IT DONE. TAKE CARE.
I sure did have a good time in Florida. Didn’t know 3 weeks could go so fast. If I had know that MJ. was coming down the Friday after we left I might have stayed longer. But then I don’t know if she would like her old aunt to tag along with her to enjoy the nite life. But I can still be the life of the party with the best of them yet. Maybe next time. I just sent birthday wishes to your mom Randy. Happy 91st to her. I am so glad that Chris is coming in April. Everyone here is excited. Will have to have another party. Am having one in March for my 71st. Can’t believe I’m going to be that old. I was always the youngest of the group. I sure don’t feel that old and I’m not going to act that old. So there. Anyway I hope the weather holds and you don’t have any measurable amount of snow this year. Happy remodeling. Will look great when finished. All my love Marie
Hi Randy,
I am enjoying your blog. Thanks for including us. Happy 91st to your Mom. She looks familiar. Did she ever live or work in Milwaukee? Hope you are still enjoying some warm weather in WI. We look forward to meeting you on your next visit to FL. We just love your condo and would love to come for a visit, again; but you and Chris are always welcome to come to Merritt Island. An open invitation to our home is always yours. Take care.
