Well a lot keeps changing for all of us. Life is full of adventures that you don’t see coming. We are good, still in Florida and still enjoying our life. Not quite the same but overall probably better than most, so we are blessed. We have a good group of friends here and we do still socialize, happy hours go on. We have minimal contact with the outside and try to keep some distance for the most part. But socialization is still important for some of us. The weather has been average or above so being outside in fresh air and getting sunshine is a positive. I had been golfing with some neighbors until Palm Beach county shut down all golf courses. 4 hours on a golf course is pretty much social distancing, and exercise is good for your immune system. But that is done for now, so I took the clubs out of the car and cleaned them up. Since our pool and common area is closed some of us in our buildings have added a grill to our courtyard. It took some negotiating with the Association board but we got it done and we think it looks great. Many of us do enjoy the BBQ. I also took our car in to get some maintenance done, even though we are not putting many miles on these days. But the dealer did a good job of sanitizing the car before and after they worked on it, and now that is out of the way. Chris made us some masks to wear when we go out now, which is not much but groceries and fresh food are still important. We try to do some purchases with the local bakeries and restaurants and hopefully can play a part in helping them through this tough time. Some of our neighbors have worried about getting home and being closer to family so our group here has gotten smaller. Our son-in-law John has been asked to help out in other areas of the hospital since occupational therapy has been cut back, but we know he will take the precautions to stay safe.
The same for all of you, do what you can to stay safe. But stay sane and treat others well.
Glad to hear you are all safe
Here. busy at the Food Pantry. We don’t get the notice of just how important we are at the moment but know we are. Getting food to those now out of jobs, and the elderly is very important. Not that we wish for praise but do think it would be great that it’s known we are there and will continue to see that no one is without food. Our Omro Community and even some formal residence of Omro have given us great support with donations to keep food available. I do post on FaceBook updates and have had many replies and support from those who do see the post. Today starting to rake and pick up branches etc. in the yard to keep my immune system going…It’s quite lovely with sun out and weather warming to be able to work just in a sweat shirt and jeans. Taking a break when needed out front and watch the sea gulls and the pelicans swim by. Some of the neighbors have been working on their docks and boat stations also. We talk at a distance or by emails to each other. Al and Gloria had to postpone their 60th Anniv. party and hope to have it yet this year. That, would have been an adventure on the boat that goes out of the Fin and Feather in Winneconne….darn. But, with Faith we will get through this and join again to see and feast with each other. I think a neighborhood pot luck would be great….will talk to others and hope you two and Marie are back to also be available to “pot luck” with all your old neighbors here on Samers Bay. Until then, keeping as safe as possible, working long hours at the Pantry and love what I’m doing….Take care see you soon. Barbara
Would like to thank all of our new friends in Florida ,you all made this winter and our first year a great one.Can not wait for next winter. Have safe and healthy summer ,Love Larry and Joann
Where is Marie? I emailed her two days ago and I haven’t heard from her.
She said she was returning to N.M. the end of March.
Will see you in May. Take care.
.
Glad everyone is safe and hopefully we will all stay that way. Our two weeks of quarantine is up today but we will continue to stay close to home. Now that the snow is leaving there will be yard work to keep us occupied. In the meantime stay safe and hopefully we will be back together in Florida next winter.
We’re glad to hear everyone is well. As per Ron and Verna, we too are done our quarantine and have now started our self isolation ( not a whole lot of difference) but at least we can get out doors and go for a walk. The BBQ looks great, nice job.
We miss the socializing and good times and laughs we had together. Hopefully we can resume next year. Great bunch of folks at Snug Harbor (A & B).
Stay safe you all.
Hopefully we can gather in Door with lots of good stories. Take care and stay healthy. Heading home on Wednesday. Hope all goes well.
