Happy Halloween.  I think we will skip dressing up this year,  wait we do that every year?  Not our think,  but enjoy watching the rest of you if you enjoy it!  Nice picture Judy and Mary!    I thought you would go for the playboy bunny or milk maid costumes, but that was OK.   Thanks for the kind words, you have already lived through the homes and aging decisions and I appreciate your counsel.    And you are leaving on your train trip shortly?

We saw Mom on Friday night and Saturday.  She is trying hard and says she has to toughen up and get through this.  She is trying much more than I ever would have thought she could 5 years ago.  She is working hard in therapy and walking and trying to get to the point they sign off on letting her go to the bathroom on her own.    And she wants more  independence and less rules,  but in another way she likes having the nurses and aides around and worries about being on her own.    And she enjoys company and a chance to talk.

We left Mom and headed north.  We spent a very nice evening with Skip/Claire/Denise and Claire’s brother and sister in law at Kessler’s bed and breakfast in Cleavland WI.  Lot’s of conversation , a very nice meal (I pigged out on prime rib) at a restaurant in town, a good nights sleep and German style breakfast and more conversation this morning.  Very relaxing, after leaving Mom,  as hard as she is trying the visits can be ‘trying’ at times.  God Bless Skip.

Made it home this afternoon and took advantage of being home to get some more work outside done.  Cool and rain today,  but I had to get in the lake to work on the shore station and remaining dock pieces, so the rain did not matter much.  And good to have those things done,  I think I worked off last night’s prime rib.

So cold wet weather makes me think of Florida!  Early December before we get down there.   We will get to Detroit first for Thanksgiving, and a Packer Game!  That will be fun.  So November will go quickly leading up to Thanksgiving and finishing fall chores.  And work continues to be trying.  But that’s life.    Hope your week and weekend has been a good one.  At least we are not in the northeast for early snow!

Video calling on iPod touch means your friends can see what you’re up to, when you’re up to it. With a tap, you can call someone on an iPhone, iPad 2, iPod touch, or Mac over Wi-Fi.* And come face-to-face with even more fun.

Tap for a more instant, instant message.
Take “LOL” to the next level and actually see friends laughing. Or bring “XOXO” to life when you blow someone a kiss from miles away. FaceTime on iPod touch makes it possible. FaceTime works right out of the box — just enter your Apple ID and email address. Or create a new email account just for FaceTime. Using FaceTime is as easy as it gets. Say you want to start a video call with your best friend over Wi-Fi. Just tap the FaceTime app and find her entry to start the call. An invitation pops up on her screen asking if she wants to join you. When she accepts, FaceTime begins. It’s all perfectly seamless. And it works in both portrait and landscape. See how much fun you can have.

Two cameras make either side its fun side.

iPod touch has two built-in cameras, one on the front above the display and one on the back. The front camera has been tuned for FaceTime. It has just the right field of view and focal length to focus on your face at arm’s length. So it always presents you in the best possible light. Which is especially handy when you’re talking to someone who’s more than just a friend.

The back camera. See and share.
So your friend is sick with a cold and can’t make it to the concert. You can share the encore with a FaceTime call. As the band takes the stage and starts playing one of her all-time favorite songs, just tap a button. And before the lead singer can belt out his first note, iPod touch switches to the back camera and to the sure-to-be-legendary performance. Another tap switches to the front camera and to you. Simple, fast, and fun.

Hope your mom cont.’s to do well. Will keep her in our prayers. I know what a tough time this is. Mom really liked the nursing home until her dementia set in and then was very paranoid. Loved being with the people and the staff and sharing her recipes, etc. Plus we did not have worries about her living alone. John is not going back to work at all. Bittersweet, but this is best. Please keep him in your prayers also. Hi to Chris and Mary and John also when you see them at Thanksgiving.

Hear you had a nice time at the bed and breakfast. I sure hope your mom can come home and with a little help be ok. Will keep my fingers crossed. She’s in my prayers. Am slowly getting my things together for Detroit. The Packer’s better save their best game for Thanksgiving. I have all my Packer-ware near the suitcase already. Preparing for cold weather. Won’t be long now. Tell Todd to tell the shoe man I’m coming. HA HA!!!!!!! Marie
