We are well into summer already, as usual time is going quickly. Wisconsin like most of the country is getting into high temperatures and high humidity. Presently we are in the Door Peninsula of Wisconsin and getting some Great Lakes breezes and certainly cooler than back in Oshkosh. We are in our second week and weather is a little cooler. Wisconsin has had some terrible storms but we came through ok. We have been doing this trip for most of our 41 years of marriage, and a chance to see a number of the friends we camped with during those vacations. Of course now we camp in a motel, which is working wonderfully. Actually part of a townhouse with a nice courtyard and pool behind us. We are in town for easy evening walks! But we are also just outside the park and a short ride in to see those that are camping. Already have some golf in and visits to favorite restaurants and new bars!
After arriving home to Oshkosh in May, Marie came to visit in early June and we quickly headed to Hayward Wisconsin for our yearly trip to spend a week near Dick and Carol. We now rent what was the owner’s house at Dick and Carol’s resort that they have their trailer parked at. Fishing was slow for Dick and I but we still managed a fresh fish fry and lots of fun. Getting back to Oshkosh we had a chance to catch up with old friends and more fun. Always good to catch up with everyone, and even had a chance to have my homebrew friends over for some beer tasting. Near the end of June we headed to the Detroit area to spend a week with MJ and John, and be there for MJ’s birthday. John and I took down a small Oak tree, trimmed up a large Maple, and finished some landscaping. We left Marie with MJ, and Marie flew home from Detroit. Chris and I traveled through the UP of Michigan to come home for almost a week, and then we started this Door County trip. So life continues to be good.
Looking good. Love Door County but I don’t think a trip there this year, last year yes with Josie and Patti. Patti’s first time and I’m sure not her last…
Yes, storms…John was out of electricity for 4 days in Appleton…quite a mess there. Here, lots of branches down and will need to burn the huge pile…..ugh. Still hoping some of the old neighbors can get together before you return to Fla. let me know what would work for you. Take care. Barbara
Beautiful where you are at. Great pictures. Have fun!
Sounds like your having a fun summer as are we. The weather has been very good the last couple of weeks. Too hot for me Randy lol but I’m dealing with it very well. Brenda Peter and family are here and today we are heading to Niagara-on-the-Lake for some site seeing and visiting a few wineries. It’s been a great time. Looking forward to seeing you also. So take care and enjoy the rest of the summer as we will
Hi you two
Good to hear you’re having a good summer. Weathers been great here as well. We’ve been kept busy with our families and time is going by too quickly.
Stay safe and see you soon.
Sounds like a wonderful summer! Been busy condo hunting and still settling some of Tom’s affairs. Military and government pay still pending. They are behind due to government shutdown.
Found a condo last week in Cape Canaveral, ocean front, with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, just what Tom and I dreamed of. Now I have room for when you come to visit and want to stay in the area for more than a day. Moving end of August. Off to see the grandsons on Thu for 2 weeks. Really looking forward to that and getting a change of scene.
I saw your photos of Tom’s funeral. Thank you for that.
Hope you continue having a fun summer and I am looking forward to seeing you all in FL this winter. Take care.
